BCM Information

Budapest College of Management has been educating students since 1996. It was established and sponsored by the Conference and Educational Centre (Villányi Street – CEC) Foundation - that is a non-profit organisation supporting higher education. The foundation of the College was a response to the demands of the changes taking place in social and economic life that manifested themselves in a need for business and entrepreneurial experts. Using the advances of private and foundational higher education, the College trains economists, managers and experts in international affairs with well-grounded and modern professional and IT skills, a good command of foreign languages, an entrepreneurial attitude, problem-solving skills and an ability for continuous self-development. The number of the enrolled students at Budapest College of Management is approximately 3000. Almost two-thirds of them participate in full-time training, others study part-time. One-fourth of the students benefit from state-funded training, whilst the others are fee-paying. Final examinations were first organised in 2000 and at the same time the first Business Administration degrees were awarded. The first classes of International Relations, Non-profit Management, Post Secondary Marketing Studies and Post-secondary Business Management Studies have also finished the training since then. Business Communication degrees will be first issued in 2007. On the grounds of the Bologna-process we started our two-cycle training in the academic year 2006/2007 and the first graduating students studying in the new system will receive their degrees in 2010. The College puts great emphasis on building and maintaining international relations. For the sake of this cause we aim to cooperate with an increasing number of higher educational institutions abroad. In the framework of this activity we organise student and teacher mobility, scholarship-supported field trips and joint research and educational projects. We intend to give our graduates the opportunity of carrying on their studies abroad. The main goal of forming, maintaining and improving these partnerships is to familiarise our students with the entrepreneurial and working culture, living conditions and educational system of other countries, so facilitating the European integration of a new generation entering the labour-market and the world of business.
